Emma Re-Design

This re-design of the classic novel, Emma, was completed as a collaborative group. The concept was to re-design Emma by Jane Austen with more of a zine aesthetic. Drawing inspiration from ’90s grunge punk style and the movie Clueless (which was based on the novel Emma), the team created a unique aesthetic for this Victorian classic.

The book includes hand-drawn textures created from makeup that overlay the pages. The design team took the photographs collaboratively to achieve unique and original images. Images, patterns, and textures were overlayed on models by placing them before a projector, resulting in seamless and distinctive photos.

In my role as designer and photographer, I was fundamental to the initial concept, inspiration, overall aesthetic, type layout, photography, and cover design.
